| Artist Statement |

As an artist, I find that whatever is current in my life affects my art. In 1999 I began traveling with and drawing various circuses and sideshows, both in the United States and Europe. Drawing on-site inspired years of painting until new interests in domestic life and cartoons emerged to change the narrative patterns and colors of my work.
In 2009 I deepened my study of tarot and energy healing. At the same time, I returned to painting the circus. Through color, form and narrative, through juxtaposing what is observed and what is thought, these works form a new dialogue integrating what I see and remember with what I wonder.
